Bandra Bandstand, Mumbai

Bandstand in the Bandra suburb is Mumbai’s famous lovers point. It is a landmark of its own with a beautiful sea face location. It is approx a 2Km stretch of road which eventually leads to Bandra fort.

Bandra Bandstand got its name from the old glory days of bandstand culture, when bands used to provide entertainment by playing outdoors there. It’s characterized by an amphitheater set high on a hill above the ocean. Popularly known as a lover’s point, at low tide, young couples like to sneak out onto the rocks below to spend some time alone.

The Bandstand area also has a long oceanfront promenade, lined with snack stalls. Recently, a Bollywood Walk of Fame was added to it, with the names and hand prints of Bollywood actors similar to the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

Bandstand,is normally associated with celebrities who reside in the area, the popular Shahrukh Khan’s bungalow Mannat is facing the sea, and there are hordes of people waiting outside his bungalow, hoping to catch a glimpse of him.

There is a small walkway from Bandstand which take you to the famous Mt Mary Church, which is on a hillock.
